About PivotPoint
We Were Built to Solve a Specific Problem
Most organizations don’t struggle to find solutions. They struggle to choose the right ones – because the decision gets made before the problem is fully understood.
The pattern is consistent: a performance gap appears, a solution gets selected, and the investment is made. When results don’t follow, another solution gets selected. The cycle continues, the gap persists, and confidence erodes.
PivotPoint Strategies was founded on the conviction that this pattern is fixable – but only if you’re willing to start differently.
How We Work
Our practice is built around Performance Intelligence © – a diagnostic-first methodology that brings discipline and sequence to performance improvement work.
Every engagement follows a four-stage cycle:
Diagnose what’s driving the gap, Determine the right path forward, Intervene with precision, and Assess the impact.
That sequence isn’t a preference – it’s the methodology.
We don’t begin with solutions. We begin with evidence. And we don’t consider the work finished until the results can be measured and proven.
Our Team Model
PivotPoint is a boutique firm by design – and that’s a deliberate choice.
Rather than maintaining a large generalist staff, we work with a curated network of specialist partners engaged based on what each project actually requires. That means clients work with senior-level experts who are precisely matched to their challenge at every stage of the engagement.
Our specialist network includes deep expertise across:
- Organizational performance psychology
- Change management and adoption
- Data analysis and performance measurement
- Evaluation design
- Instructional design and learning architecture
- Innovation strategy
The result is the agility of a boutique firm with the full-service capability of a much larger practice.
About Our Founder
PivotPoint Strategies was founded by Dr. Lynne M. MacBain, CPT, CAIT – a performance improvement consultant with more than 20 years of experience working across industries and organizational contexts.
Lynne serves as President of the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) and is the developer of the Performance Intelligence framework ©. She leads every client engagement as strategic director, ensuring the methodology is applied with rigor from diagnosis through final assessment.

A Note on the Framework
Performance Intelligence © is not a consulting brand. It is a structured approach to organizational decision-making that I developed over years of watching the same problem surface in different industries and at different scales: leaders choosing interventions before diagnosing causes.
The framework formalizes what systematic performance improvement has always required – diagnose before you decide – and makes it accessible as a leadership practice, not just a consulting methodology.
Everything PivotPoint does is grounded in it.
Ready to Close the Gap?
If your organization is facing a performance challenge and existing solutions haven’t delivered, the answer is almost always the same: start with the diagnosis.
